Who we are

Talita Cumi began in 1999 under the name Fe y Esperanaza (Faith and Hope).  It's first location was a property seized by the Bolivian government from a drug trafficker and declared for use as a children's home until the man was released from prison.

The incomplete house was not suitable for a children's home but was pressed into service, and simple improvements were made.  The first director left the home under questionable circumstances, so a pastor from the Christian Assemblies Church of Bolivia asked a 22 year old girl, Graciela Alba, who had been praying about how she could serve the Lord, to manage the home.

Through prayer, perseverance and hard work along with the contributions of missionaries, their supporters, and frequent short-term missions teams, the home is now in a new location with a much brighter future. God's provision was evident in the process of acquiring this new property. The current property was acquired through Drs. Rik & Sabine Celie, Belgian Medical Missionaries who sold the home to Talita Cumi.

There are currently 31 children at the home, ranging in age from pre-school to teenagers.  Most will remain there until they reach adulthood.
